The WTCC summer break is over as racing resumes in Argentina

2016-08-02

The Polestar Cyan Racing team has traveled to the other side of the world as the FIA World Touring Car Championship resumes in Argentina this weekend after the summer break.

”We are going to attack the challenge of the final season part from a new angle both from me as a driver and the engineers. The summer break has been great to charge our batteries and to get time to think, especially as the spring schedule was so hectic,” said Thed Björk.

Robert Dahlgren, who joined the WTCC team in the previous race in Portugal, continues his hectic schedule and will head straight back to Sweden to race in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship at Karlskoga next weekend after Argentina.

”I really love driving a race car and I get the best of two worlds by developing a new car in the WTCC and fighting for victories in the STCC. I have longed all summer to start racing again and I am really looking forward to this weekend’s race on a for me completely new track,” said Robert Dahlgren.

The WTCC races in Argentina, held on Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo, marks the start of the final part of the season, starting in South America and then moving on to Asia with Japan, China, Thailand and finally Qatar.

”The team has got a well-needed break to summarise the season so far. An intensive period is about to follow and while the team has not been able to test between the races, they can start to utilise what has been learned so far this season. We hope for a strong final season part and a couple of top five finishes,” said Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin, Head of Motorsport at Polestar.
